2011!
2011 was brought in a little later than usual, having watched replays of Australian and New Zealand fireworks on TV while eating dinner. The night involved dinner at bro’s gf’s friends place, followed by a trek to Distillers, Hammersmith. A notable mention of this new land was their choice of music after the clock had struck 12, Auld Lang Syne, the 80s hit Don’t Stop Believen by Journey and the 60s song Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison before the resumption of the usual affair. All in all, not the epic London New Year’s spectacular I had been imagining, but now being sick and still jetlagged, it was a welcomed relief.
