January
Several good photos from across the UK to choose from, but this one stood out in the end for just seeming so peaceful.

Although February took me around 13 countries in Europe to many scenic locations, this photo seemed to capture the image that you would have conjoured up in your mind of pre-tourist Venice before you arrive.

This was the month for wandering around London leisurely and gave me the chance to see some of the main attractions from a different angle.

This photo from Turkey stood out above the rest, capturing old ruins, wild flowers and a cloudless blue sky.

Unfortunately there was not much to chose from for May. This photo was chosen for the artistic element with a differnt take on Portabello Markets in Notting Hill to what you would normally see. It is also pre-signed by me, if you look in the bottom right hand corner.

June
Notting Hill got another nod in June, beating a couple of shots from the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. Not the sort of builiding or subject you would expect, but the sky, contrast in building paint, flowers and people drinking on the street seemed to perfectly capture the perfect English day.

This photo won for it's sheer difficulty to take with a point and shoot camera, while the car was travelling at some 250kmph.

August
Could not decide between two photos this month as I didn't believe either deserved to miss out, you be the judge. Two of my absolute favourites so far this year.

September
This month was another difficult choice, this time between photos from Ireland and Norway. In the end I chose Ireland as this was such a cool spot and the morning sun was running along the ground in between shadows.

It was a toss up between a couple of photos, but this Liverpool one got the nod as I haven't included many night shots and the black parts in this photo come through as really clear and bold.

With all the autumnal colours glistening everywhere in London this month, it was an easy decision to pick this one.

When it was time to add the photo of the month, I thought an obvious choice would be to add one of my many London
X-mas photos. However, upon checking their details I realised that I had taken all of them in November, leaving me with not much to choose from. This was the best of only a few taken inside the Glasgow Cathedral late December. The lights angled on the many archways provide an interesting shot of the inside of the Cathedral.

Another entry from magical Edinburgh, this time at the height of winter. This dusk shot provides an interesting comparison of Old town to New town, with Waverly station parting the two.
